This course will introduce you to the concept of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). You will learn how issues such as child abuse, neglect, divorce or substance abuse by parents, and adverse economic circumstances, can affect the physical and emotional health of children and teenagers well into adulthood. They can cause anxiety, mental health issues, impaired brain development and life-threatening diseases.
You will learn about the damaging effects of extreme stress reactions and the problems caused by poor attachment to parental figures and caregivers.
You will become familiar with the types of planning, strategies and implementation required to help buffer and protect children and teenagers who are living in these situations, through interventions at school and at home.
You will understand the possible societal interventions for breaking the generational cycle of abuse.

- The ten major ACEs and how economic disadvantage can also be seen as an ACE
- What toxic stress and stress reactions are
- The theories behind the concept of attachment and the risks to a child or teenager if they experience insecure forms of attachment
- Strategies to help children with ACEs cope
- The strategies that parents and caregivers can use to help children verbalise and grieve their experiences in a safe space
- The societal responsibility and strategies required to break the cycle of abuse

Anyone who has an interest in learning more about this subject matter is encouraged to take the course. There are no entry requirements to take the course.
The course is broken down into 5 individual modules. Each module takes between 20 and 90 minutes on average to study. Although you are free to spend as much or as little time as you feel necessary on each module, simply log in and out of the course at your convenience.
You can study the course any time you like. Simply log in and out of the web based course as often as you require. The course is compatible with all computers, tablet devices and smart phones so you can even study while on the move!
Once you have completed all 5 modules there is a multiple choice test. The questions will be on a range of topics found within the 5 modules. The test, like the course, is online and can be taken a time and location of your choosing.
The pass mark for the test is 70%.
If you don’t pass the test first time you will get further opportunities to take the test again after extra study. There are no limits to the number of times you can take the test. All test retakes are included within the price of the course.
You can either use your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Solo cards or PayPal account to pay for the online course. Our site uses the latest SSL encryption to ensure your safety. All payments are handled securely by PayPal.
You can begin the course immediately after your payment has been received. You will create your login details during the checkout process. We will also send you an email confirming your login details.
We estimate that the course will take about 4 hours to complete in total, plus an additional 30 minutes for the end of course test.
Once you have been awarded your certificate it is valid for life. The certificate does not expire or need renewing.
This is a good overview with useful hints and tips covering a broad range of administrative activities and the tools to assist in effectively carrying out these activities. Even as a seasoned administrator, I was able to learn new tips and functions within the tools that I was unaware of to make my role more effective.

Wow what an incredible insight for the start of anyone's journey in property. This course gives you so much information and there are tests and questions on each of the modules. This is a great course for any level of knowledge. Very easy to navigate, great practical tasks and explanations are very clear. You can revise any module with no problem.
