Nightclub and Bar Security Certificate

Nightclub and Bar Security

A bar, pub, casino or nightclub may have a queue for entry, with security staff, commonly referred to as bouncers, managing the access to the premises. This is an important job, ensuring that those who enter are safe and legally allowed to be there. They also ensure that the establishment does not exceed capacity.

Being a bouncer comes with many responsibilities. Bouncers not only protect staff and patrons from difficult or dangerous situations, but also protect the business owners by ensuring the relevant rules and regulations are adhered to.

The job can be dangerous. To address any possible violence in clubs, bars, tourist and nightlife attractions etc, it has become more of a business need than a liability to hire bouncers. This means that regulations and certifications are the standard when hiring. UK regulations require that anyone whose job involves guarding licensed premises must hold a Door Supervisor Licence.

Those who make the effort to learn what it takes to be the gatekeeper of clubs and bars often benefit from a deeper understanding of the job.

With this course, you will learn about what a bouncer is, the job requirements, necessary skills, and much more.

You Will Learn:

  • About bouncers, how they differ from other security professions and the job requirements
  • The skills needed for bouncers to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Regulations, laws and what a bouncer can and cannot do
  • About the many challenges, risks and even perks that come with being a bouncer

I really enjoyed the course and would recommend this to my friends.

I completed a City and Guilds Certificate 40 years ago and was looking at bringing my skills up to date. This gave me the encouragement and insight to what I needed to go back into hairdressing. I understand the importance of keeping my skills up to date and would like to study further in styling, hair treatment and colouring.

Thank you very much I enjoyed the 27 modules attached to the course. I particularly enjoyed the videos attached to the course and have always enjoyed putting hair up for special occasions such as weddings.

This is a good overview with useful hints and tips covering a broad range of administrative activities and the tools to assist in effectively carrying out these activities. Even as a seasoned administrator, I was able to learn new tips and functions within the tools that I was unaware of to make my role more effective.

This short course about dyslexia is well worth the money. I am a fully qualified dyslexia specialist who teaches full time. I saw this course and thought it would be a good idea to ensure my knowledge and strategies were current. This course is thorough, packed with facts and useful interventions and is easily manageable. It fulfils its brief and would be extremely useful to teachers and TAs working in school who wish to increase their knowledge of SpLD and how to support children effectively. The course reinforces prior knowledge and gives food for thought and discussion. The time indicators for each session are reasonably accurate and allow you to plan your studying and feel that the course is manageable around other commitments. There are some points which feel incomplete or slightly simplified but one can always find further literature and articles to extend one's understanding. I recommend this course.

I found the course very useful and it was fairly easy to navigate around the website. The course material was good and easy to understand and I am glad that I passed my test.

I learned so much as I am currently doing my CEMAP Mortgage Adviser qualification and thought that doing an Estate Agency Diploma would help me know the basics about selling and letting properties.

I feel so much more confident after doing the course and encourage anyone who wants a career in Estate Agency to do this course as you will learn so much from it.
    Thank you New Skills Academy!
