This course will teach you the importance of safer recruitment of people who want to work with children and adults at risk. It will assist you to recognise the risks to vulnerable groups should the wrong people be employed or allowed to volunteer. You will become familiar with the procedures and protocols required to ensure that no mistakes are made in the recruitment of people into "regulated work", which is working directly with children or adults at risk.

Anyone who has an interest in learning more about this subject matter is encouraged to take the course. There are no entry requirements to take the course.
The course is broken down into 5 individual modules. Each module takes between 20 and 90 minutes on average to study. Although you are free to spend as much or as little time as you feel necessary on each module, simply log in and out of the course at your convenience.
You can study the course any time you like. Simply log in and out of the web based course as often as you require. The course is compatible with all computers, tablet devices and smart phones so you can even study while on the move!
Once you have completed all 5 modules there is a multiple choice test. The questions will be on a range of topics found within the 5 modules. The test, like the course, is online and can be taken a time and location of your choosing.
The pass mark for the test is 70%.
If you don’t pass the test first time you will get further opportunities to take the test again after extra study. There are no limits to the number of times you can take the test. All test retakes are included within the price of the course.
You can either use your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Solo cards or PayPal account to pay for the online course. Our site uses the latest SSL encryption to ensure your safety. All payments are handled securely by PayPal.
You can begin the course immediately after your payment has been received. You will create your login details during the checkout process. We will also send you an email confirming your login details.
We estimate that the course will take about 4 hours to complete in total, plus an additional 30 minutes for the end of course test.
Once you have been awarded your certificate it is valid for life. The certificate does not expire or need renewing.
Well structured and easy to follow coursework. My queries were answered promptly and were clearly not stock Q&A responses so I felt I had been given real support.
The test at the end was unexpected as the end of module tests were self marking. As it was a timed test that covered every aspect of the course but in a random way which meant one had to pay attention and read the questions carefully!
I feel I have achieved something and will certainly follow up with another course. New Skills Academy is highly recommended as an online study organisation, as well.

I have always had an interest in property and estate management. I was unsure how to get my career started in this field without any experience or qualifications in that area. Also, having three children and a full time job limits my ability to attend to college courses. The online system they have at "New Skills Academy" is so straight forward and easy to use. This was a brilliant course that was easy to understand and fits into your lifestyle by being able to access at times that suits you. I needed a refresher course and this ticked all the boxes. One area which I was not aware of was the Employment Allowance Incentive but I now understand this fully. It is also good information on record keeping along with Data Protection. I highly recommend this course and it doesn't have to be expensive to do. The fact that you get a Diploma Certificate at the end only enhances your CV and gives you a sense of satisfaction.

I am 3/4 the way through my Legal Secretary Diploma Course, I have studied full time and it has taken me about a week (few hours per day) Very informative course which makes you memorise each module well, with worksheets at the end of each module. Gave a brilliant knowledge base into the different areas of Law and the secretaries roles within them. I have never done an online course before as thought they were not very credible, but this they are good providing you are willing to put the work in, all the information is provided for you , you just need to use it. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who has some spare time and wants to expand their legal knowledge - this course is not just for legal secretaries!!
