20.1: Step-by-step Guide

To make the monkey in a tree you will need two balloons.

Step 1

To start with we will make the monkey. Pump up a balloon leaving about a fingers length deflated.
2836

Step 2

Pinch and twist an area of balloon a few inches down from the knot to make a nose.
2837

Step 3

Next we will make one of the monkey's ears. Pinch and twist to make a small bubble.
2838

Step 4

Perform step 3 again to make another ear.
2842

Bend the balloon over...
2839

and perform a lock twist...
2840

this gives you the shape of the ears.
2841

Step 5

Make a neck by pinching and twisting an area about an inch behind the newly created ears.
2846

Step 6

Now bend the balloon over...
2847

Ensure that there is enough room to put another balloon through the gap....
2848

Then perform a lock twist.
2849

Step 7

2850

Step 8

Bend the balloon over and perform a lock twist.
2851

Step 9

2852

Step 10

2853

Step 11

2856

Take your finger out of the balloon.
2857

Step 12

Pinch and twist the balloon in-front of the knot.
2858

Step 13

Curve the balloon back to the twist, pinch and twist hands in opposite directions.
2859
