This course is designed to give you all the information that you need to know regarding people handling. It begins by giving you a brief introduction to the topic, including a review of the relevant legislation. Next, it discusses the importance of conducting risk assessments. Safe equipment use is covered next. This section elaborates on legislation that was introduced previously, to provide you with a complex understanding of the field. Finally, we review the best practices that you need to keep in mind, whenever you move or handle a person.

Anyone who has an interest in learning more about this subject matter is encouraged to take the course. There are no entry requirements to take the course.
The course is broken down into 4 individual modules. Each module takes between 20 and 90 minutes on average to study. Although you are free to spend as much or as little time as you feel necessary on each module, simply log in and out of the course at your convenience.
You can study the course any time you like. Simply log in and out of the web based course as often as you require. The course is compatible with all computers, tablet devices and smart phones so you can even study while on the move!
Once you have completed all 4 modules there is a multiple choice test. The questions will be on a range of topics found within the 4 modules. The test, like the course, is online and can be taken a time and location of your choosing.
The pass mark for the test is 70%.
If you don’t pass the test first time you will get further opportunities to take the test again after extra study. There are no limits to the number of times you can take the test. All test retakes are included within the price of the course.
You can either use your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Solo cards or PayPal account to pay for the online course. Our site uses the latest SSL encryption to ensure your safety. All payments are handled securely by PayPal.
You can begin the course immediately after your payment has been received. You will create your login details during the checkout process. We will also send you an email confirming your login details.
We estimate that the course will take about 2.5 hours to complete in total, plus an additional 30 minutes for the end of course test.
Once you have been awarded your certificate it is valid for life. The certificate does not expire or need renewing.
This course will give me the chance to engage further in my search for a career. I found this course helpful for both refreshing my memory of known skills as well as teaching me new ones.
I appreciated the chance to engage in this course as it was very interactive. I could both watch videos as well as read explanations. I could then apply that in a practice element of the course.
I have an ICT A Level and I didn’t know some of the function that were possible on word. It has been beneficial to me, even though I’m well versed in Microsoft Word.

I can honestly say that I have truly enjoyed learning about Microsoft Excel.
The step by step modules (36 of them!), breaking down each part of Excel was easy to understand and absorb. The explanations of each stage was handy for notes as well. The videos were helpful for directions and practise. The worksheets were helpful to put learning into action.
The test at the end was very good in covering many aspects of Excel, however I would have liked to know what I did not get correct. This would have been helpful.
However, I would gladly use a New Skills Academy course again.

I've only just started this course but already the content layout and info are spot on. I was only going to do the 1st module the evening I got it but four hours later I had almost completed four! I just couldn't put it down. I have just finished an online aromatherpy course but the massage section was vague so this complements it perfectly I would recommend to anyone. I especially appreciated that I was able to take the modules at my own pace, according to the schedule that fit within my work and free time. Tests where 5 questions based at the end of each module and a 50 question test at the completion of all mode’s.

The course is brilliant to use. The information available on the individual modules is so easy to read and understand. The activities at the end of the modules refresh what you have just learnt, you can print these also so you are able to make notes for your own personal reference to go back to. You can also log onto your course at home or if your out and about on your phone.
Overall I would recommend this course and I am so pleased I decided to go for this and will look forward to being able to write this onto my CV.
