Canadian French Level 1

Headed to Canada on a business trip, a holiday, or simply intrigued about this interesting version of the French language?

French Canadian Level 1 is the ideal place to start learning about Canadian French and why it's different than French.

The Canadian province of Québec has French as its official language, and most of the population speaks the Canadian, or 'Québécois' French as their first language.

Although the origin of this language is France, some English influences have crept in over the years. Québec French is full of small differences and idioms that aren't found in France.

This Level 1 course aims to give you the knowledge of Quebec French necessary to hold conversations, recognise differences, and have a solid basis of vocabulary.

Learning Canadian French and beginning to recognise the differences from French, is one of the clearest insights into the development of language and the interesting ways that languages branch off from one another and begin to differ.

You Will Learn:

  • How to introduce yourself and greet others in Canadian French
  • How to converse briefly in Canadian French, asking and answering short, common questions
  • A wide variety of Canadian French vocabulary
  • How to count to 20 and name the countries in Canadian French
  • How to ask questions about words and foods in Canadian French

Benefits of Taking This Course:

  • Learn about the interesting differences between French and Canadian French
  • Gain a conversational fluency in Canadian French, useful for business purposes, tourism, or even just curiosity and fun!
  • Gain the confidence to speak French in a new location, and awareness of the intriguing ins and outs of Canadian French
  • Learn French, or improve your existing French, while also focusing on a specific dialect and learning the colloquialisms used in Canadian French
  • Learn about why Canadian French and French have become so different over the years

After much searching, I stumbled across this online course which sounded perfect for what I wanted and was available at a very affordable cost. This is the first time I have taken an online course, so wasn’t sure what to expect or if my money was going to be well spent.

The course is great, it was very easy to follow with simple, clear instructions and the additional use of video demonstrations that I found extremely helpful. It was handy to be able to print off all the course modules to keep for future reference and nice to receive a certificate upon completion.

Whilst I will probably never have a career as nail technician, I have gained what I wanted from this course, lots of knowledge and new confidence to do manicures/pedicures on both myself, friends & family.

I really enjoyed this course. Was a lot of reading and had to stop and try to take it in.

There were 21 modules, and most of them took 45 minutes to complete, so you need to be in a position, where you actually have the time to do all the tasks that are required. The tasks are mainly to do things by yourself to practise what you have just read, but doing it will help you out so much.

Will be looking for another course, as I enjoyed this so much, definitely worth the price as the certificate is worth more on your cv.

This is brilliant I couldn't of had a better course to do having the videos as well help so much

Clear and concise content in a great structure to allow to be able to revise and study key points without being rushed forward without fully understanding content , iv'e done lots of distant learning courses but this is by far the best !

Amazing course, very insightful and surprisingly current. I work in the healthcare industry and this course answered a lot of my questions about the pharmaceutical field and the future relationship between the NHS and the Pharmacies.

What an innovative way to learn. Congrats everyone who put this together. I’m now hungry for further studies. The cost is next to nothing and I would definitely recommend the service to anyone. Actually, I plan to inform my colleagues about my success and will forward them here to try this out and see if they’ll be impressed as I am.

This was an absolute joy. Credit to New Skills Academy for offering this.

This course is absolutely brilliant for someone like me that has a busy working life – the modules are chunked into bite sized pieces and are really simple and straightforward to use.

It is easy to dip in and out of and pick up from where you left off – I was certainly glad I chose to pick all 3 levels – I am quite competent with Excel but I have also picked up new pieces of information from the beginners’ modules as well as really developing my skills with the more advanced information.

It has also meant I have had a really good refresh with parts of Excel that I haven’t used for a long time. I advise anyone who is considering skipping straight to the Intermediate or Advanced courses to go for this option – it really has proved excellent value for money!
