A duty of care is the responsibility to ensure the health, safety and general wellbeing of other people. It can encompass offering constructive feedback and safe working conditions for employees. The UK has a legal obligation for duty of care. People are expected to care about the health and safety of people around them. With such provisions in place, working environments in the UK are most often safe for employees. This is unlike workplace environments in developing countries, as they do not have a legal obligation for duty of care.
Employers must first meet legal obligations to be able to offer an advanced duty of care to their employees. They should also determine what their workers need and the duty of care that is already in place in order to help come up with new duty of care principles. Due to the essence of people’s safety at work or anywhere else, this course has been developed to help you understand the term ‘duty of care’ in a general sense, for ease of application in any industry. We start by defining duty of care and what it generally involves. Next, we list the benefits of duty of care to employees and explain whether it is a legal requirement in the UK. Finally, the course covers levels of duty of care and how employers can develop a duty of care policy.

Anyone who has an interest in learning more about this subject matter is encouraged to take the course. There are no entry requirements to take the course.
The course is broken down into 1 individual modules. Each module takes between 20 and 90 minutes on average to study. Although you are free to spend as much or as little time as you feel necessary on each module, simply log in and out of the course at your convenience.
You can study the course any time you like. Simply log in and out of the web based course as often as you require. The course is compatible with all computers, tablet devices and smart phones so you can even study while on the move!
Once you have completed all 1 modules there is a multiple choice test. The questions will be on a range of topics found within the 1 modules. The test, like the course, is online and can be taken a time and location of your choosing.
The pass mark for the test is 70%.
If you don’t pass the test first time you will get further opportunities to take the test again after extra study. There are no limits to the number of times you can take the test. All test retakes are included within the price of the course.
You can either use your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Solo cards or PayPal account to pay for the online course. Our site uses the latest SSL encryption to ensure your safety. All payments are handled securely by PayPal.
You can begin the course immediately after your payment has been received. You will create your login details during the checkout process. We will also send you an email confirming your login details.
We estimate that the course will take about 0.75 hours to complete in total, plus an additional 30 minutes for the end of course test.
Once you have been awarded your certificate it is valid for life. The certificate does not expire or need renewing.
Very easy to follow modules with brilliant work sheets to check what you have just learnt. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic! I would definitely recommend doing this course if you are a beginner, and I would also say that you definitely do not have to worry as all three learning types are covered! It is also great to have the ability to get in touch with a tutor if stuck, especially if you haven’t got someone at home or work to help you understand something!
If I hadn’t of already completed this course and chosen to start the next level up, I would happily do this course again. However, I would recommend this course, even more so for someone who is trying to learn for a career change! Exactly what I did and because of this very reason, and feared that it would expensive to change my career, and was amazed how easy and cheap it was!
