The Science of Happiness Certification

The Science of Happiness

Happiness not only makes us feel good about ourselves but also affects our lives in many ways.

The science of happiness course explains what makes human beings flourish and why we feel stressed and unhappy. Dealing with constant stress and struggling with unpleasant memories can pose barriers to happiness.

The human brain processes emotions and experiences in a certain way, and our perceptions of experiences can affect our ability to be happy.

The course explains the fundamental psychology that underlies happiness and describes techniques that can sustain long-term contentment. While some part of happiness is genetically determined, we can improve our happiness levels through personal control.

What You Will Learn:

  • How happiness is defined in terms of psychology and the different emotions that contribute to happiness
  • The different forms of happiness and their effects in the short and long term
  • The different models of happiness and techniques to sustain long-term happiness
  • How the brain processes positive experiences in terms of function
  • How different types of memory contribute to happiness
  • How the brain operates to trigger responsive and reactive modes
  • How negativity bias affects the ability to process positive experiences
  • How repetition and emotion affect the formation of neural circuits

Benefits Of Taking the Course:

  • You will be able to differentiate between fleeting happiness and implement strategies that can enhance long-term satisfaction
  • Once you understand how the brain works, you can enjoy higher levels of happiness
  • You will discover how to focus on positive experiences and alter the way your brain processes experiences
  • Higher happiness levels will help you become calmer, enjoy better health, and boost your ability to deal with challenges

Having recently started a role in the payroll department I felt I needed to gain knowledge from as many sources as possible.

I found this course to be thorough, easy to understand and the website easy to navigate. It gave me a much greater understanding of payroll systems, the legal obligations of an employer and HMRC guidelines.

I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone starting out or wanting to progress in a payroll role.

Was really nice to be able to sit through an online course and fly through it.

This is because my learning styles are predominantly read/write and/or kinaesthetic so being in a classroom listening to teachers is often mind numbing and other students tend to hold me back. This course was great for allowing me to work through at my own pace.

It was also great value for money and although I didn't need to request for student support, all confirmation emails came through quickly and efficiently so I am overall pleased with the service.

Good job New Skills Academy, looking forward to learning with you more in the future.

New Skills Academy is a fab place to go to if you’re wanting to start a course and further your career. Being a mother to 2 young children it is hard to find the time to complete a course and juggle life… thank goodness for New Skills Academy.

They put no pressure on you to finish your course by a certain time. They allow you to take your time and really understand what you’re learning. It’s easy to use, there is help when needed, a very modern design making it great for anyone to use. Fab place to learn.

This course will give me the chance to engage further in my search for a career. I found this course helpful for both refreshing my memory of known skills as well as teaching me new ones.

I appreciated the chance to engage in this course as it was very interactive. I could both watch videos as well as read explanations. I could then apply that in a practice element of the course.

I have an ICT A Level and I didn’t know some of the function that were possible on word. It has been beneficial to me, even though I’m well versed in Microsoft Word.

I’m a property investor and I have an interest in property generally. I wanted to do this course to broaden my knowledge of property but also make sure I understand my rights as a buyer of property. This is a nice introduction to the profession of Estate Agency but also negotiation and building networks. It includes material on both residential and commercial property, and also property maintenance. It touches upon the Estate Agents Act 1979 which is very important. My next step will be to review the act. It is a very broad course and is a good place to start.

Chris Pinnock

Really good course that covered lots of different areas within events planning. I liked that, if there were any questions you got wrong on the tests, you could find out which ones and try again. Lots of case studies to look through too.
